We recognize the needs of band directors at the first contest of the season: top-notch adjudication, constructive comments, ideas you can use to refine your show, and a positive experience for students. With these thoughts in mind, we are committed to providing a contest that can help you set the tone for a successful season.

First-and-foremost, the “Silver Invitational” is committed to providing you with expert and experienced adjudicators. They are instructed to give a knowledgeable assessment of your band, using positive comments and constructive ideas you can use to refine your show. Last year, our outstanding judging panel drew high praise from many band directors. This year’s panel is currently being assembled, and will be posted shortly on our contest web page at www.wkhsband.org.

Our panel will use SCBDA-style sheets, following the SCBDA scoring system:

• 40% Music Performance
• 30% Visual Execution
• 30% General Effect Music

In addition, single judges will evaluate Drum Major and Color Guard captions.

Early Registration Deadline: Monday, June 16th
Bands whose registration form is submitted online or postmarked on or before June 16th are eligible for an early registration fee of $20.00.

Final Registration Deadline: Monday, September 8th
A registration fee of $50.00 will be required. Please make checks to the White Knoll Band Boosters. Online payment is also available for those who register online. Positions in each class will be determined by online submission date or postmarking of mailed forms.The earliest submissions will perform last (unless otherwise requested).

Classifications

• 0 – 39 A
• 40 – 59 AA
• 60 – 79 AAA
• 80+ AAAA

Bands may register by total winds or by school size. We reserve the right to modify these classifications if necessary for competitive balance. Directors will be consulted and notified of any changes after registrations are complete.
