We want to always portray a positive image of the band and its supporters.

Competitions are exciting and emotional events for parents and others who are deeply involved in our band. Remember that people around you will form opinions about our band and our community based on not only how the band conducts itself, but also how the parents and fans act. Always be courteous and show others the WKHS band spirit!

MARCHING AND GUARD COMPETITION ETIQUETTE

 

  • Comments about other bands/guards should always be positive.
  • Parents need to be positive role models.
  • Courtesy is expected during all performances.
  • Applause, cheering and standing ovations are acceptable forms of recognition.
  • Distracting noises such as catcalls, yelling or noisemakers are not acceptable during performances or between performances.
  • Do not cheer for our band/guard until their placement during the awards ceremony is announced.
  • Rudeness such as booing and heckling are not acceptable.
