This page is an archive for the news stories, photos and video clips from the 2008 Trip the band took to New York City.

This trip was a monumental event for the band that had an incredible impact on the students, chaperones, staff and parents who participated.

The band extends their thanks to the brave men at Ladder 101 who so graciously accepted us, fed us and showed us thanks and good old NY Hospitality!

We also thank the countless others who planned, worried, spent their time and money, went the extra miles and gave so generously to the band to make the trip happen.
TO ALL STUDENTS, STAFF & PARENTS WHO HELPED RAISE MONEY FOR THE LADDER 101 FIRE TRUCK:
Some of the media coverage would have everyone believe that the band alone raised the money for the fire truck. This, of course, is not true and the band students, parents and staff all recognize this fact.

We acknowledge and thank all who participated in the fund raisers to honor the fallen heroes of the NYC Fire Department.

A number of the Seniors in the band participated in the fundraisers. Many of the parents and chaperones on the trip were also involved.
We worked hard to represent ALL those who worked and gave of their time, efforts and money.

It was truly a bright time for South Carolina and the White Knoll Schools!

WLTX Columbia
WLTX sent reporter Jennifer Lindgren and cameraman Mike Remia to New York with the band to capture the events. They produces web reports and nightly reports that were broadcast back in Columbia. We appreciated their expertise and their company!
